Eileen Enders Adolph, 95, Corydon, formerly of Crandall, died Monday, Sept. 19, 2016.
Born Nov. 2, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Hattie Enders.
She attended a one-room schoolhouse for many years before graduating from Halifax High School in 1938. She graduated from Central Pennsylvania Business School before moving to Washington, D.C., during World War II and worked in the safety section for the Department of Defense. She was a precinct committee volunteer who registered voters in their homes and worked the polls when tallies were made by hand. She also worked many years in the Harrison County Assessor’s office, was a member of Crandall United Methodist Church and served in the United Methodist Women’s group.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Adolph, and a sister, Evie Urich.
Survivors include three daughters, Elaine Jackson (Ernie), Leta Kranbuhl (Tim) and Georgeen Thompson (Bob); three siblings, Paul and Bob Enders (Judy) and Myra Hoffman, all of Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Thursday, Sept. 22, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Friday, Sept. 23, after 10 a.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey.
Funeral: Friday, Sept. 23, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Bethlehem Cemetery near Crandall.
