Ruby Sharlene Hardsaw, 82, Laconia, died Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, at Beard’s Assisted Living near Laconia.
Born Sept. 20, 1933, in Harrison County, she was the daughter of the late Essie Lee and Nora Neafus Faith.
She was a cook and janitor at the South Central schools and a member of Union Chapel Christian Church near Laconia.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Duane (J.D.) Hardsaw; four brothers, Burl, Tom, Robert and Alfred Faith; and a sister, Vida Lurie.
Survivors include two sons, James Frank (Jimmy) Hardsaw (Linda) of Elizabeth and Gary Lynn Hardsaw (Teresa) of Sellersburg; two daughters, Gloria Jean Farnsley (Gary Ray) of Elizabeth and Rebecca Sue Menges (Richard) of Lanesville; 11 grandchildren, Jamie Miller, Jennifer Robson, Ryan Farnsley, Alisha Hess, Jason, Joe, Autumn and Josh Hardsaw and Riley, Aidan and Adalyn Menges; and seven great-grandchildren, Shane and Kendall Miller, Jared and Brooklyn Robson, Harper Hess, Jack Farnsley and Carter Hardsaw.
Visitation: Thursday, Sept. 22, from 1 to 8 p.m. and Friday, Sept. 23, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Friday, Sept. 23, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Otterbein Cemetery near Laconia.
Officiant: Brother Bill Campbell.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Otterbein Cemetery Fund.
