Nancy Karen Mathes Snyder, 74, Corydon, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016, at her home after battling cancer.
Born Jan. 23, 1942, in Corydon, she was the daughter of Catheryn Reas Mathes of Corydon and the late George F. Mathes.
She was a retired tour guide for the Corydon Capitol State Historic Site, the recipient of the Distinguished Hoosier Award and a member of the Corydon Moose Lodge and Heidelberg United Methodist Church.
Besides her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Snyder; a brother, Donald Mathes; and two sisters, Betty Ripperdan and Mary Lou Emily.
Survivors in addition to her mother include a son, Shane Snyder (Sarah) of Naperville, Ill.; a daughter, Heather Davis (Bob) of Corydon; a brother, Larry Mathes (Betty) of Corydon; and three grandchildren, Reagan Davis and Oliver and Jack Snyder.
Visitation: Wednesday, Sept. 7, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday, Sept. 8, after 10 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Thursday, Sept. 8, at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the American Cancer Society.
