John Been Jr.

John Been Jr., 82, Corydon, died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016, in Louisville.
Born Nov. 3, 1933, in Jeffersonville, he was the son of the late John and Mae Dooley Been.
He worked at Phillip Morris for 16 years, was a tow boat engineer for American Commercial Barge Lines and, after retiring from there, worked at Alstott’s Ace Hardware in Corydon.
Survivors include his wife, the former Barbara Mathis; a daughter, Dianna Van Gilder (Chris) of New Albany; a son, Jon Robert Been of Jeffersonville; two stepsons, Ronald Hulen (Angel) of Camby and Richard Hulen (Kristy) of Lanesville; three brothers, Roy Been of New Albany, Frank Been of Floyds Knobs and William Perry Been of Indio, Calif.; a sister, Norma Willis; and five grandchildren.
Arrangements: Private. Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon are handling arrangements.
