George Robert (Bob) Riley Jr., 91, Lanesville, died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016, at his home.
Born Nov. 5, 1924, in Lanesville, he was the son of the late George R. Sr. and Isbiel Drillette Riley.
He was a farmer, a supervisor at Ford Motor Co. truck plant for 32 years, a bus driver for New Albany-Floyd County School Corp., a board member for the Edwardsville Water Corp. and Edwardsville Cemetery Board, member of the Rebels Square Dance Club in New Albany and Tunnel Hill Christian Church in Edwardsville and an Army veteran of the World War II era. His farm was the recipient of the 150-year Hoosier Homestead Award.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Riley; a sister, Katherine Idle; and a grandson, Brad Roberts.
Survivors include his wife, the former Wilma Koehler; three sons, Bill Riley (Pam), John Riley (Becky) and Richard Riley (Tina), all of Lanesville; two daughters, JoAn Riley (Gene Bush) of Depauw and Donna Riley (Joe Wayne) of Lanesville; nine grandchildren, Sherri Roberts, Angela Scott (Lee), Kristy Riley, John Riley (Christy), Casey Riley (Sarah), Matt Riley (Elizabeth), Eric Riley (Becky), Brandon Riley (Alisha) and Shelby Riley; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Friday, Aug. 12, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 13, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown.
Funeral: Saturday, Aug. 13, at noon at Tunnel Hill Christian Church with burial in Edwardsville Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Hosparus of Southern Indiana or the Edwardsville Cemetery Association.
