Entertaining spectators within the Harrison County Fair’s grandstands included several nights of motor-sports action. Monday, the lawn mowers and mini-cars beat and banged in their respective demolition derby divisions.
Among the mini-car modifieds, Nathan Coffey was the survivor, followed by William Saltsgaver and Tabby Rice. The mini-car stocks derby saw Mark Rosenburg outlast others for the top trophy. Jessica Wright finished second, while Steve Kost was third.
Also on Monday, the increasingly popular lawnmower derby took place with two rounds of action. Winning the first round was Grub Elliott, while Chevy Allen was second and Tim Zollman third. In the second round, Steve McGill placed first, followed by Zollman and Elliott.
Wednesday featured KOI drag racing.
Thursday, the demolition cars returned. In the big car stock demolition derby, Chuck Roby survived the rectangled off concrete barriers for first. Scotty Hinkle took second, while Dusty Sizemore was third.
Among the modified big cars, Nathan Brown took home the bragging rights while Logan Duvall was second and Aaron Scott was third. There was also a youth power wheels derby on Thursday.
The Harrison County Fair’s motor sports-action concluded Friday and Saturday with tractor and truck pulls, respectively (results not yet available).
