Albert Zwahlen Jr.

Albert Zwahlen Jr., 88, Elizabeth, died Sunday, July 10, 2016, at his home.
Born April 13, 1928, in Louisville, he was the son of the late Albert Sr. and Minnie Carter Zwahlen.
He was a tobacco machine operator for Brown-Williamson, an Army veteran of the Korean conflict and a member of VFW Post No. 3281 in New Albany, Knights of Columbus No. 3289 in Lanesville and St. Peter’s Catholic Church near Elizabeth.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby L. Zwahlen.
Survivors include three son, E. Patrick Zwahlen of Sorrento, Fla., and William Sims and John B. Zwahlen, both of Elizabeth; two daughters, Charolette Trobaugh and Therese Bibb, both of Elizabeth; two sisters, Dorothy Alberg of Largo, Fla., and Carolyn Boody of Louisville; 19 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Tuesday, July 12, from 2 to 8 p.m., with a Knights of Columbus service at 6 and a rosary service at 7:30, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon and Wednesday, July 13, after 9 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church near Elizabeth.
Mass of Christian burial: Wednesday, July 13, at 11 a.m. at the church with burial in the church cemetery.

The family suggests memorial to the St. Peter’s Catholic Church Cemetery Fund or the American Diabetes Association.
