Steven L. Zabel

Steven Lee Zabel, 61, Lanesville, died Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville.
Born Aug. 12, 1954, in Corydon, he was a truck driver and a member of St. Johns’ Lutheran Church near Lanesville.
He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Lee Zabel; a daughter, Desiree Coy; a brother, Tony James Zabel; and a sister, Cindy Ruth Zabel.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Darrell W. and Bertha Marking Zabel; his mother, Shirley Benson Reasor; a brother, Todd Allen Zabel; a sister, Becky Jean Suddeth; a stepson, John Showalter; and a stepdaughter, Cheryl Gresham.
Visitation: Friday, May 20, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon and Saturday, May 21, after 10 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church south of Lanesville.
Funeral: Saturday, May 21, at 11 a.m. at the church with burial in St. John’s Cemetery south of Lanesville.
Officiants: Pastors Christopher Truelsen and Ronald Richeson.
Pallbearers: Todd and Rick Zabel, Robert Suddeth, Randy Hussung, Nick Acton, Frank Price, Frank Law and Mark Lambertus.
The family suggests memorial gifts to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
