Draw out for girls’ tennis sectional

The pairings for the Indiana High School Athletic Association girls’ tennis sectional tournament were released early this week with play set to start today (Wednesday).
At the four-team New Albany Sectional, Lanesville and Corydon Central are slated to face one another in the opening round today at 4:30 p.m. Filling out the opposite side of the bracket, also at 4:30, is New Albany taking on Christian Academy of Indiana.
The winners will return tomorrow at 4:30 p.m. to battle for the sectional title.
Mid-Southern Conference champion North Harrison is part of the five-team field at the Floyd Central Sectional.
In Wednesday’s opening round, Floyd Central will take on Crawford County. The winner will take on Salem in one semi-final match. Playing in the other semi-final will be MSC-foes North Harrison and Eastern (Pekin). The semi-final matches will take place tomorrow with the winner returning Friday for the championship. All matches at the Floyd Central Sectional will commence at 5 p.m.
The Silver Creek Sectional features four teams, including South Central. The Lady Rebels will kick off the sectional facing the host Lady Dragons today at 4:30 p.m. Waiting in the semi-final round will be Henryville to take on the South Central/Silver Creek victor. The opposite side of the bracket pits Borden versus Charlestown. The semi-final matches will take place tomorrow at 4:30 p.m. prior to the final on Friday at the same time.
