Cecil B. Lewis

Cecil Bentley (Shotgun) Lewis, 86, Fredericksburg, died Monday, May 2, 2016, at his home.
Born April 2, 1930, in New Albany, he was the son of the late Lee Roy and Laura Mae Gibson Lewis.
He was a graduate of Pekin High School, an Air Force veteran serving in Korea, a retired pipe fitter for Local 502 in Louisville and a member of Mount Carmel Methodist Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Cecil Alan Lewis and Paul Shaun Lewis, and a brother, Elsworth Lewis.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, the former Mary Charleen Duncan; a son, Tony Lee Lewis (Tina) of Salem; five daughters, Linda Carol Skinner (Jackie) of English, Janice Elaine Tabler (Joe) of Borden, Shirley Mae McDaniel (Jim) of Huntingburg, Tammy Sue Kling of Hardinsburg and Holly Michelle Armes (Kirk) of Palmyra; a brother, Leroy Lewis of Oklahoma; 24 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and 30 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, May 4, from 3 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, May 5, after noon at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra.
Funeral: Thursday, May 5, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Horner’s Chapel Cemetery at Fredericksburg.
