Walter B. Hunt Sr.

Walter B. Hunt Sr., 85, Lanesville, died Friday, April 22, 2016, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
Born Jan. 4, 1931, in Meade County, Ky., he was the son of the late Walter Isler and Blanche Wooldridge Hunt.
He retired from Eastern Airlines in Louisville, had worked for the Floyd County Road Dept. and attended Tunnel Hill Christian Church in Edwardsville.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dee and Charles Hunt, and two sisters, Pearl Rice and Mary Geary.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, the former Agnes LaVerne Cecil; three sons, Walter B. Hunt Jr. of Elizabeth, Michael W. Hunt of Georgetown and Thomas Joseph Hunt of New Albany; two daughters, Brenda Lou Simmons of Georgetown and Debbie Haller of Elizabeth; two brothers, Ed Hunt of Indianapolis and James Hunt of Edwardsville; a sister, Alma Morgan of Louisville; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Monday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown.
Funeral: Tuesday, April 26, at 2 p.m. at Tunnel Hill Christian Church in Edwardsville with burial in Edwardsville Cemetery.
Officiant: Pastor Becky Gibbons.
The family suggest memorial gifts to the Leukemia Society or the Diabetes Association.
