Ruth Smith, 82, Leavenworth, died Thursday, April 21, 2016, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
Born Oct. 14, 1933, in Alton, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Dona Summers Sheckells.
She was a member and treasurer of the Beechwood Bible Holiness Church near English and a member of the Harrison County Holiness Association (Ramsey Camp).
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Roy L. Smith; a granddaughter, Jessica Lowery; and two brothers, John and Richard Sheckells.
Survivors include her husband, Leroy Smith; two sons, Roger W. Smith (Polly) and Ryan (Josh) Smith, both of English; three daughters, Rita D. Culver (Marvin) of Leavenworth, Becky L. Wolfe (Pete) of New Middletown and Reena Ruff (Hank) of English; 13 grandchildren, Zachary and Trenton Culver, Travis Wolfe, Krista Briscoe, Kara Carver, Kimi Wolfe, Steven and Caleb Smith, Tiffany Eckart, Christopher Smith and Alan, Marty and Josie Ruff; 13 great-grandchildren, Meliya, Rylee, Preston, Titus, Stella, Winston, Gretchen, Hailey, Hunter, Jevin, Jagger, Jaxson and Courtney; a brother, Abe Sheckells (Linda) of English; and two sisters, Rachael Saltsgaver (Jesse) and Clara Mattingly (Elwood), both of Leavenworth.
Visitation: Saturday, April 23, from 3 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, April 24, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon and Monday, April 25, after 11 a.m. at Beechwood Bible Holiness Church.
Funeral: Monday, April 25, at 1 p.m. at the church with burial in Bloom Riddle Cemetery near Leavenworth.
Officiants: Brothers Joey Pyle and Ben Watts.
Pallbearers: Zachary and Trenton Culver, Travis Wolfe, Steven, Caleb and Christopher Smith and Alan and Marty Ruff.
