Voyles no hits Charlestown

North Harrison senior Konnor Voyles tossed a five-inning no-hitter Monday night at Charlestown, striking out two Pirates along the way.
Offensively, the Cougars pounded out nine hits leading to 10 runs for a 10-0 victory in Mid-Southern Conference play.
During the five innings, Voyles held the Pirates without a hit and walked none. North Harrison made two errors.
‘Konnor was in charge all night, keeping Charlestown off balance by throwing all three of his pitches for strikes,’ North Harrison coach Cody Johnson said. ‘We threw backwards to their main hitters. Starting with curveballs and finishing with fastballs. He battled every pitch.’
At the plate, Alex Eveslage went 3 for 3 to lead the offense. Jake Book and Alex Flock drove in two runs apiece. Helping his no-hit bid, Voyles had a double at the dish.
‘It’s amazing to say at any level you have a guy who can no-hit a great team like Charlestown,’ Johnson said. ‘(They are) top in the conference and always very tough to play.’
