John C. Pearl
John C. Pearl, 97, Corydon, died Saturday, April 16, 2016, at his home.
Born July 21, 1918, in Cedar Creek, Ky., he was the son of the late Brown Gardner and Lula French Pearl.
He was the owner and operator, along with his wife, Anoi, of the Ideal Restaurant in Corydon for many years, was a World War II Army veteran and a member of Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church in Corydon.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Anoi Shireman, and a grandson, Brent Richardson.
Survivors include a son, Curtis Pearl (Cathy) of St. Cloud, Fla.; a daughter, Dottie Trivett (Larry) of Central; a stepson, Ronnie Kirkham (Myra) of Corydon; a stepdaughter, Kathy Pierce of Elizabethtown, Ky.; a brother, Richard Pearl of Lyndon, Ky.; four grandchildren, Kim Sarles, Scot Richardson and Shawn and Greg Pearl; six great-grandchildren, Josh and Jonathan Sarles, Andrew and Avery Richardson and Nicholas and Maxwell Pearl; and three great-great-grandchildren, Collin and Blake Sarles and Dillan Gaither.
Visitation: Sunday, April 17, from 3 to 8 p.m. and Monday, April 18, after 10 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Monday, April 18, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
Officiant: Pastor Scott Blessitt.
