Lucy J. Puckett

Lucy Jane Puckett, 90, Palmyra, died Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at her home.
Born Sept. 20, 1925, in Louisville, she was the daughter of the late John and Ethel Jackson Bohannon.
She was a pitcher in women’s fast-pitch softball in the Louisville area in her younger years.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Robert (Bob) Puckett, on March 2, 2016; three brothers, John, A.J. and James Bohannon; and two sisters, Carroll Hughes and Imogene Tischendorf.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna Whistler (Tom) of Corydon and Linda Bailey (Larry) of Palmyra; five grandchildren, Scott (Shane) and Cory (Julia) Whistler, Rhett and Alex (Kristen) Bailey and Antoinette Berg (Jeff); four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Friday, April 8, from 2 to 5:30 p.m. at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra. Cremation was chosen.
Memorial service: Friday, April 8, at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
