Robert W. Puckett

Robert W. (Bob) Puckett, 92, Palmyra, died Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at his home.
Born May 26, 1923, in Louisville, he was the son of the late Robert and Lillian Best Puckett.
He was a graduate of Fairdale (Ky.) High School, a World War II veteran, retired from International Harvester in Louisville, where he worked as an electrician, a former semi-pro baseball player in the Louisville area, a member of Suburban Masonic Lodge No. 740 and Old Capitol United Methodist Church in Corydon and a former member of Auburndale Baptist Church in Louisville.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Lee (Bud) Puckett.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, the former Lucy (Jane) Bohannon; two daughters, Donna Whistler (Tom) of Corydon and Linda Bailey (Larry) of Palmyra; five grandchildren, Scott Whistler (Shane), Cory Whistler (Julia), Rhett Bailey, Alex Bailey (Kristen) and Antoinette Berg (Jeff); and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Sunday, March 6, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra.
Memorial service: Sunday, March 6, at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation was chosen.
