Robert M. (Bob) Pitman, 87, Corydon, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016.
Born April 2, 1928, in the family home in Corydon, he was the son of the late Charles M. and Ethel Conrad Pitman.
He graduated from Corydon High School in 1947, worked as a truck driver, factory worker and a farmer and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he coached the St. Joseph’s Middle School basketball team in the mid-1960s.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Daisy E. Lowe; a daughter, Nancy; a son, Patrick; two brothers, Russel Pitman and Herman Pitman; and a sister, Alice P. Tindel.
Survivors include six sons, Robert L., Richard D., Anthony (Tony), Michael A., Paul D. and Eric (Joe); a twin sister, Betty Boaz; three grandsons; a granddaughter, Daisy N.; and a great-granddaughter.
Visitation: Saturday, Feb. 20, from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 21, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with a rosary at 7, and Monday, Feb. 22, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Christian Mass: Monday, Feb. 22, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, both in Corydon.
