Sara Elizabeth Byerly, 87, Mauckport, died Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016, at the IU Hospice House in Bloomington.
Born Oct. 7, 1928, in Mauckport, she was the daughter of the late William Arlen and Delphenia Langdon Wiseman.
She retired as a hairdresser after 50 years and was a member of Corydon United Methodist Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Earl Wayne (Sam) Byerly, and a brother, Joseph L. Wiseman.
Survivors include a daughter, Rhonda J. Sauerheber (Kenneth) of Bedford; two grandchildren, Kristin L. Sauerheber and Shelby B. Awishes (Tony); and six great-grandchildren, Hannah Streich, Kayla and Jaycee Branham and Connor, Caden and Cameron Awishes.
Visitation: Wednesday, Feb. 24, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday, Feb. 24, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Thursday, Feb. 25, at noon at the funeral home with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Corydon United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
