Charles J Baird

Charles J Baird, 76, New Albany, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016.
Born Aug. 6, 1939, in LaFollette, Tenn., he was the son of the late Theodore and Mary Hatfield Baird.
He was a member of Parkway Southern Baptist Church in New Albany, a tree trimmer and retired from the New Albany City Flood Control.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Melanie Jean Baird; a step-daughter, Karen Lynn Miller; and a grandson, Drew Sears.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Pauline Hodges Sears; four sons, Charles David Baird of Jeffersonville, Jerry Lee Kerns Jr. and Eric J Baird, both of Elizabeth, and Stanley Wayne Kerns; five daughters, Donna Kuntz and Shelly Ann Dunn, both of Jeffersonville, Bobbi Rose Hershey of Sellersburg and Armintie Sue Kemp and Mary Ellen Sears, both of New Albany; 16 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Monday, Feb. 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Parkway Southern Baptist Church in New Albany.
Funeral: Monday, Feb. 8, at 2 p.m. at the church with burial in Greenville Cemetery.
Arrangements: Love Funeral Home in Palmyra.
