Robert B. Wingerter Sr.

Robert B. Wingerter Sr., 91, Elizabeth, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016, at his home.
Born Oct. 22, 1924, in Menfro, Mo., he was the son of the late Anton and Hattie Pecaut Wingerter.
He was an Army Air Corps veteran, retired from civil service at the Fort Benjamin Harrison Federal Finance Center in 1979, was a Boy Scout leader, worked at Sears in the hardware department, was a mainstay at the Animal Hospital of Lanesville and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lanesville.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lavella Blessing.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, the former Rita Keeven; four children, Robert B. Jr., Ronald and Randall Wingerter and Rene Wingerter Buchanan; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Friday, Jan. 8, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 9, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral Mass: Saturday, Jan. 9, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lanesville with burial in the church cemetery.
