Lady Rebels roll at W. Washington
An electric start to the second half lifted the South Central girls’ basketball team to a 64-41 victory Saturday afternoon at West Washington.
South Central led by five points at the half, but an outpouring of points in the third quarter (26) pressed the Lady Rebels well ahead.
Three players for South Central reached double-figure scoring, including a double-double from Miranda Kiper (13 points, 15 rebounds). Sophomores Alexis Knear (18 points) and Ally Davis (17 points) led the Lady Rebels in point totals. Sabra Walker chipped in seven points.
‘Even though we were up at half, West Washington was the more aggressive team, but the girls responded well in the second half,’ South Central coach Randall Schoen said. ‘Miranda Kiper played well, giving us 13 points and 15 rebounds. Ally and Lexie, for the most part, are always consistent. If we can get a couple others to be more consistent, we have a chance to be a pretty good basketball team by sectional time.’
Ryana Watson led West Washington with 13 points.
With two straight wins under its belt, South Central played rival Lanesville last night (Tuesday). The Lady Rebels will return to action tomorrow at Crawford County.
