Darlene R. Attwood
Darlene R. Attwood, 76, Corydon, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, at Kindred Transitional Care & Rehabilitation Center in Corydon.
Born Sept. 1, 1939, in New Albany, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Evelyn Mader Byrd.
She was formerly employed at ARPAC poultry processing plant in Corydon and Ben Snyder’s Dept. Store in Clarksville and was a member of the United Methodist faith.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Carl W. (Corky) Attwood IV, and two brothers, Harry and Jerry Byrd.
Survivors include her husband, Carl W. Atwood Jr.; four sons, Carl W. III, Richard and Greg Attwood, all of Corydon, and Michael Attwood of New Albany; two daughters, LaShelle Small and Sheena Pittman, both of Corydon; three brothers, Steve, Larry and Dennis Byrd, all of New Albany; two sisters, Faye Jenkins of Jeffersonville and Bobbi Heavrin of New Albany; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Monday, Dec. 21, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, Dec. 22, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Tuesday, Dec. 22, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
Pallbearers: Harvey Basham, Harvey Basham Jr., Robert and Greg T. Attwood, Matthew Ferguson and Zach and Aiden Pittman.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the local humane society or the American Cancer Society.
