Paul V. Gettelfinger
Paul V. Gettelfinger, 101, Depauw, died Monday, Nov. 9, 2015.
Born Oct. 11, 1914, near Ramsey, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Laura E. Engleman Gettelfinger.
He was retired from E.I. Du Pont De Nemours & Co. in Louisville, was a farmer, was former president of St. Bernard Cemetery Board, was a lay minister at St. Bernard, Knight of Columbus Council 1808, Lanesville, was a Sagamore of Wabash and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Corinne Pate; two sons, James and Larry Gettelfinger; a daughter, Paula Craig; five brothers, Ralph, Clarence, John, Clement and Wilfrid Gettelfinger; and three sisters, Sister Mary Gemma Gettelfinger, Mildred Pate and Lodema Simon.
Survivors include nine children, Marilyn O’Connor of Nashville, Tenn., Steve and Ronald Gettelfinger, both of Louisville, David Gettelfinger of Sana Rosa, Fla., Brian Gettelfinger of Ramsey, Cathy Sherrod and Louis and Jerry Gettelfinger, all of Depauw, and Richard Gettelfinger of Corydon; 14 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Thursday, Nov. 12, from 2 to 7 p.m. and Friday, Nov. 13, after 9 a.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey.
Funeral: Friday, Nov. 13, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon with burial in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery in Frenchtown.
