Anita J. Ferree

Anita Jean Hoskins Ferree, 84, Lanesville, formerly of Glasgow, Ky., died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
Born Dec. 26, 1930, in Louisville, she was the daughter of the late Herschel Bales Hoskins and Annie Ruth Smith Hoskins.
She attended Glasgow and Auburndale Grade schools and Southern Junior High in Louisville and, at 17, accepted Jesus Christ. She worked at ARPAC chicken factory and Keller Manufacturing Co., both in Corydon, the ICI bag plant in Charlestown, Seinsheimer’s shirt factory in New Albany and the Census Bureau in Jeffersonville. She wrote many journals, an autobiography of her life, a cookbook, ‘The Ferree Way,’ and, for two years, wrote a column for The Corydon Democrat.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a stepfather, Lewin Kidd; her husband, Robert Gunterman Ferree; a brother; and a sister.
Survivors include six children, Michael, Becky, Tony, Mark, Lindy and Bobby; 21 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday, Oct. 15, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Thursday, Oct. 15, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Lanesville Protestant Cemetery.
Officiants: Pastor Michael Ferree and Evangelist Becky Trammell.
Pallbearers: Nathan, Aaron, Joel, Jon, Jack, Joshua and Joe Denton Ferree, Devon Fonda, Corey and Noah Frazier and Logan Harmon.
