Richard Lee Hottell, 60, Delaware, Ohio, formerly of Brandenburg, died Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015.
Born April 27, 1955, in Corydon, he was the son of the late Ivan Lewis and Leola Evelyn Long Hottell.
He was a 1973 graduate of Meade County High (Ky.) School, where he played football for the Green Wave and started several years; was a member of Brandenburg United Methodist Church since his youth; was a long-time member of the Brandenburg Moose Family Center; worked as a restaurant manager and district manager in Kentucky, Tennessee and Ohio; and worked in car sales and financing in Delaware, Ohio.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Lewis Hottell.
Survivors include a son, Ryan C. Hottell of Columbus, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Jodi Lynn Picetti of Lewis Center, Ohio; a sister, Ruth Ann Hottell-Thiriet of Toledo; and a brother, Dennis W. Hottell of Brandenburg.
Visitation: Friday, Sept. 11, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 12, after 9 a.m. at Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home in Brandenburg.
Funeral: Saturday, Sept. 12, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Heidelberg Cemetery near Corydon.
