Dr. Wilfred Joseph Brockman, 95, Corydon, died Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015, at Corydon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born Nov. 3, 1919, in Campus, Ill., he was the son of the late Edward William and Mary P. Bolte Brockman.
He was a World War II Army veteran, a 1942 graduate of Indiana University, a 1949 graduate of University of Louisville Medical School and a physician in Harrison County from July 1950 until February 1991. He was a member of the Indiana University Alumni, the American Medical Association, the Phi Chi Medical Fraternity, St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon and VFW Old Capitol Post 2950 in Corydon, a retired member of the Harrison County Medical Staff, a seven-year member of the Harrison County Health Dept. and a charter member of the Corydon Sportsman Club.
Survivors include his wife, the former Bonnie Oldham; three sons, Joseph Brockman of New Boston, Mich., Philip Brockman of Brandenburg and William D. Brockman of Corydon; two daughters, Mary Martin and Bonita Baker, both of Louisville; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Tuesday, Sept. 8, from 5 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Sept. 9, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon with private burial.
Officiant: Father Rob Hankee.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the St. Vincent De Paul Society, 1015-C S. Preston St., Louisville, KY 40203 or through the funeral home.
