Denny M. McCarty

Denny M. McCarty, 85, Corydon, died Monday, Aug. 31, 2015, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
Born Nov. 1, 1929, in New Amsterdam, he was the son of the late Corda and Eunice Young McCarty.
He was retired after 30 years as the assistant lockmaster for the Corps of Engineers, was of the Catholic faith and was a Marine veteran.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Francis Mason; a daughter, Deborah Lynn; and a brother, Olney McCarty.
Survivors include a son, Brian Lee McCarty of Jeffersonville; a brother, Jimmy McCarty of Palmyra; a sister, Carmen Cunningham of Louisville; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Thursday, Sept. 3, from 1 to 8 p.m. and Friday, Sept. 4, after 9 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Friday, Sept. 4, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Corydon.
Officiant: Father Rob Hankee.
