Betty S. Harris

Betty S. Harris, 79, died Sunday, Aug. 9, 2015, at Kindred Transitional Care Indian Creek in Corydon.
Born July 29, 1936, in Louisville, she was the daughter of the late Avery and Cillar Simmons Edmonson.
She had worked as a certified nurse assistant at Rolling Hills Nursing home in New Albany and the ICI Ammunition Plant in Charlestown and was a member of the Church of the Covenant in Elizabeth.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Juanita Davis and Wilma Lee Edmonson.
Survivors include her husband, William (Bill) Harris; two sons, James Jr. and Tony Troutman, both of Laconia; a daughter, Angela Cozart of Corydon; two sisters, Carolyn Haas of Elizabeth and Allie Leffler of New Albany; and 11 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Tuesday, Aug. 11, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Aug. 12, after 9 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Wednesday, Aug. 12, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in the Rehoboth Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Officiant: The Rev. Dick Goodwin.
