Annabelle Tower Breeden, 88, Leavenworth, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015.
Born Sept. 24, 1926, in Marengo, she was the daughter of the late Roy E. and Margaret Tower.
She in many community organizations, including Leavenworth Presbyterian Church, where she was the choir director and organist for almost 60 years, the Order of the Eastern Star, the Ouiska Run Chapter of DAR and Crawford County Welfare Dept., and worked as manager of both the Overlook Restaurant in Leavenworth and O-Hi-View Inc., a 55-year-old family owned hatchery and egg processing company. She also had worked at her father’s general store, Tower & Merryman.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell E. Breeden, and 10 siblings.
Survivors include five children, Russell Breeden III of Boston, Mass., Douglas T. Breeden of Chapel Hill, N.C., Kathryn E. Coleman and John C. Breeden, both of Leavenworth, and Dwight E. Breeden of Glen Ellyn, Ill.; a sister, Mary Davis of Clarksville; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Friday, July 24, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon and Saturday, July 25, from noon to 2 p.m. at Leavenworth Presbyterian Church.
Celebration of life: Saturday, July 25, at 2 p.m. at the church with burial in Leavenworth Memorial Gardens followed by a reception at Wyandotte Hall in Leavenworth.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Breeden Memorial Library in Leavenworth or the Alzheimer’s Association.
