Corydon’s Stiles selected Academic All-State

Corydon Central High School senior pitcher Jenna Stiles was recently recognized by the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association as Academic All-state honorable mention.
To earn the award, student-athletes are nominated based on a series of criteria, including a minimum 3.5 GPA (based on a 4.0 scale), a minimum SAT score (1,110) or ACT score (24) and participation in varsity contests.
Stiles was one of Corydon Central’s top players, hitting 12 home runs while driving in 39 runs. She also hit for a .427 batting average. As a pitcher, she went 11-7 in the circle, striking out 145 in 123 innings. Stiles, who has committed to play at Transylvania University, had a 3.07 ERA.
Another area player honored as Academic All-state was Katherine Hamilton (Paoli); honorable mentions were Emily Stewart (Henryville), Ashtyn Kaskie (Henryville), Audrey VanMeter (Henryville), Kaitlyn Ingle (Paoli), Amber Kilburn (Salem) and McKenzie Bush (Silver Creek).
