Several activities planned for Friday in Corydon

With many off work Friday for the Fourth of July holiday, several activities are planned in Corydon for that, beginning with the Firecracker Treasure Hunt hosted by the Downtown Corydon Merchants.
The Firecracker Treasure Hunt will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Shoppers who visit all 22 merchants during the hunt will be entered in a drawing for a $100, $75 or $50 gift certificate to be used at any of the participating shops. Shoppers can also earn extra entries into the drawing by making a purchase at any of the shops or by taking a selfie in front of their favorite shop and posting it on the Downtown Corydon Merchants’ Facebook page. Many shops will have sales going on during this event.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., children can stop by the Blaine H. Wiseman Visitor Center along Elm Street for free face painting and balloons, compliments of Main Street Corydon and the Harrison County Convention & Visitors Bureau.
From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Downtown Corydon Merchants will sell hot dogs, chips and drinks in front of Little Texas Consignment along Elm Street.
The Fred Cammack Corydon Farmers Market, with 27 vendors at 124 S. Mulberry St., will be open from 4 to 7 p.m., followed by the Friday Night Band Concert at 417 N. Mulberry St. at 7, featuring the Indiana 38th Infantry Band.
The day will conclude with the Kiwanis Club fireworks show at Old Capital Golf Club just east of downtown along S.R. 62.
Merchants participating in the Firecracker Treasure Hunt are Albin Jewelers, Bookworm, BR Grafix, Butt Drugs, Collections of the Homeplace, Daniel of Corydon, Furocity, Happy Days Child Care, Harmony & Health, Head Bean Coffee Shop, KentJava Bar, Lil Rap, Little Texas Consignment, Natural Touch Spa & Salon, Old Town Store, Pfeiffer’s Jewelry, Red White & Blush, Shifter’s Vapors, The Green Sunflower, The Picker’s Nest, Town Square Gallery and White Cloud Window.
