Man dies after fall from horse

Indiana conservation officers are investigating the death of a Harrison County man that occurred at the Harrison-Crawford State Forest last week.
Shortly before noon Thursday, Richard Scott, 56, of Corydon, was horseback riding on a trail just outside of O’Bannon Woods State Park when he fell from his horse and became unresponsive.
Scott’s brother and his sister-in-law, who were riding with him, called 911 and began CPR. Minutes later, O’Bannon Woods State Park personnel and an Indiana conservation officer arrived and took over CPR until Harrison County paramedics arrived.
Efforts to revive Scott were unsuccessful. According to the Harrison County Coroner’s Office, the cause of death was cardiac arrest.
Police said foul play is not suspected.
Also assisting at the scene was the Harrison County Sheriff’s Dept.
