Earl Martin, 97, Corydon, died Friday, May 29, 2015, at Indian Creek Health & Rehabilitation Center in Corydon.
Born Sept. 8, 1917, in Palmyra, he was the son of the late George and Daisy Voyles Martin.
He was a retired Holiness pastor, having served many churches in Southern Indiana, was a retired painter and wallpaper hanger, was a member of the International Conservative Holiness Association, attended Marengo Pilgrim Holiness Church and was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Voncille Hawkins; five brothers, Everett, Victor, Mynard, Carl and George Martin Jr.; and a sister, Georgia Ruff.
Survivors include two sons, Paul Martin of Accra, Ghana, Africa, and Marcus Martin of Ramsey; two daughters, Arletta Ashlock of Anderson and Vanita Reynolds of Frankfort; a brother, Dale Martin of New Albany; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, June 3, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday, June 4, after 8 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Thursday, June 4, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Palmyra Cemetery.
Officiant: The Rev. Robert Jones.
Pallbearers: Aaron and Jonathan Ashlock, Dwayne Reynolds, Robert Shelenberger, Stephen Martin, Jonathan Brown, David Lowe and Jon Lee.
Honorary pallbearer: Jim Riley.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Harrison County Holiness Association for ‘Ramsey Camp’ or to The Gideons International.
