Vernon R. Williams
Vernon Ray Williams, 76, Central, died Monday, May 11, 2015, at his home.
Born Dec. 31, 1938, in Middlesboro, Ky., he was the son of the late Tom and Stella Townsend Williams.
He was a graduate of the Purdue University Agricultural Short Course, a former employee of the Harrison County garage, Louisville Sand & Gravel Co., Uhl’s Truck Sales and Harrison County Community Services, a former milk truck driver before retiring from his concrete business, WW Builders, a founding member of the Southern Indiana Foxtrotter’s Club, a former member of New Amsterdam United Methodist Church and Blue River Saddle Club and a member of the Meade County Senior Citizens Center in Brandenburg.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Mark Randall Williams, and two brothers, Kenneth and Herman Williams.
Survivors include two daughters, Laura Rose Williams of Central and Leslie Paige Williams of Mauckport; an adopted son, Kevin Lee Albin of Corydon; a longtime friend, Norma Solinger of Brandenburg; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Thursday, May 14, from noon to 8 p.m., Friday, May 15, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, May 16, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Saturday, May 16, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in New Amsterdam Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Kevin Lee Albin, Tyler and Ralph Williams, Kenny Bradford, Charles Beauchamp and Mike Harbeson.
Honorary pallbearers: Jack Lang, Paul Pittman, Wilson Rhodes and Chuck Harbeson.
