Gilderoy (Roy) P. Richardson Jr., 91, Georgetown, died Wednesday, April 15, 2015, in New Albany.
Born March 8, 1924, in Houlka, Miss., he was the son of the late Gilderoy and Lela M. Harris Richardson.
He was a World War II Army veteran serving with the artillery, a farmer, a foreman for American Synthetic Rubber, now known as Michelin, and a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Joyce (Peggy) Richardson; two brothers, Dwight and Ross Richardson; and a sister, Maxine Schafner.
Survivors include four children, Brian Richardson of Georgetown, Dr. Thomas Richardson of North Salem, Carla McComas of Greenville and Kathy Sue Watson of Evansville; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Friday, April 17, from 4 to 8: p.m. and Saturday, April 18, after 10:30 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown.
Funeral: Saturday, April 18, at noon at the funeral home with burial in Wolfe Cemetery at Georgetown.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Methodist Children’s Home in Lebanon, Ind., Shriner’s Children’s Hospital or March of Dimes.
