Byron B. Byrn
Byron B. (Barney) Byrn, 93, Crandall, died Friday, March 20, 2015, at Lincoln Hills Healthcare in New Albany.
Born Sept. 28, 1921, at Crandall, he was the son of the late Hugh O. and Margaret Scheler Byrn.
He was a self-employed barber and a member of the Crandall Masonic Lodge No. 591 F&AM.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Byrn, and a sister, Pauline Clubb.
Survivors include his wife, the former Kathryn M. Sager; a son, Michael D. Byrn of Burlington, N.C.; two daughters, Carolyn Embry of Lanesville and Terri Basham of New Albany; two stepsons, Neal D. Baker of Yuma, Ariz., and Andrew L. Baker of Middletown, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Michele K. Hake of Dover, Pa.; two brothers, Donald Byrn of Georgetown and Wayne Byrn of Sellersburg; three sisters, Maxine Merk of Jeffersonville, Mary Wheatley of Clarksville and Glenas J. Ross of Columbus, Ohio; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Sunday, March 22, from 5 to 8 p.m., with Masonic rites at 7, and Monday, March 23, after 10 a.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey.
Funeral: Monday, March 23, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with interment in Bethlehem Cemetery near Crandall.
