Alan C. King, 97, New Albany, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, at the Robley Rex V.A. Medical Center in Louisville.
Born in New Albany, he was a Marine Corps veteran, having served in World War II, was retired after working in the upholstery business for more than 50 years and was a member of First Church of God in New Albany.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Carrie E. Kitterman.
Survivors include a son, Alan S. King of Petal, Miss.; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Visitation: Friday, Feb. 20, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes in New Albany.
Funeral: Friday, Feb. 20, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Due to weather conditions, private burial will be in Perseverance Chapel Cemetery near Corydon at a later date.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the First Church of God building fund, 2248 Charlestown Road, New Albany, IN 47150.
