Eleanor Timberlake Albin, 97, Corydon, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014.
The daughter of the late Lee and Siddie Timberlake, she graduated from Corydon High School and the University of Indianapolis and University of Louisville. She taught school in New Middletown and Corydon for more than 34 years. She and her husband were the owners of Albin Jewelry Store in Corydon and, when it expanded in New Albany, she managed that store. She was a member of Tri Kappa, Delta Gamma Women’s Club, Laconia Homemakers Club and Corydon United Methodist Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vallas Albin, on July 4, 2001; 12 brothers and sisters; two daughters, Sandra LaDuke and Margaret Ann Itzoe; and a grandson, Tom Itzoe.
Survivors include a daughter, Sarah Colvin; six grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Saturday, Dec. 20, from 1 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 21, after 1 p.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Sunday, Dec. 21, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
The family suggests memorial gifts to one of three charitable funds at the Harrison County Community Foundation the Eleanor and Vallas Albin Scholarship, the Sandra Albin LaDuke Memorial Scholarship or the V.M. Albin Charitable Fund.
