Howard B Lawton

Howard B Lawton, 90, Corydon, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.
Born Sept. 22, 1924, in Goddard, Ky., he was the son of the late Wilbur A. and Ethel Crawford Lawton.
He was a retired heavy equipment operator with Stauth Brothers in Corydon and the Clark County Landfill, was formerly employed at Keller Manufacturing Co. and Harrison County Hospital, both in Corydon, was a member of the Civilian Construction Corps, was a farmer and was an Army veteran.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Virginia I. (Ginny) Woodward Lawton, on Oct. 7, 2014; three brothers, Harold, Earl and Robert; and four sisters, Dorothy, Elizabeth, Caroline and Mildred.
Survivors include two sons, Jim and David Lawton, both of Corydon; three daughters, Harriett Neal of LaGrange, Ky., Mary Ann Cartee of Decatur, Ala., and Laura Lawton Hess of Depauw; three brothers, Herb and Charles Lawton, both of Corydon, and Dean Lawton of Laconia; a sister, Laurie Louise Kaufherr of Three Oaks, Mich.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Saturday, Nov. 1, from 3 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 2, after noon at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Sunday, Nov. 2, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
Officiant: Pastor Betty Sieberns.
Pallbearers: Clint, Jim, David, Dale and Gayle Lawton and James Stewart.
