Webster Township voters will elect three members to the township trustee advisory board. There are five candidates seeking the three seats: Republicans Oren L. Chumley and Joey Rosbottom, both incumbents, and Democrats Daniel Thomas McPhillips, an incumbent, Stephen F. Bachman and Rhonda Smith Wiseman. The top three vote-getters will serve a four-year term. Questionnaires were sent to the candidates, and a photo was requested. Stephen F. Bachman did not respond to the request. Here are the other candidates’ responses.

Why are you seeking the office (in 100 words or less)? I am seeking the position for multiple reasons: I have been a lifelong resident of Webster Township and care about my community. I would love to see the community prosper and grow. My goal would be that the existing children and their children would want to continue to live in the community as my parents and grandparents did before me.
If elected, what will you do to serve the people of Webster Township (in 150 words or less)? If I was entrusted with this position, I would work with other advisory board members to make the best decisions for our community. I have been a successful business person and feel with my family roots I could bring knowledge, fairness and just decisions for the residents of Webster Township. I believe in an open-door policy and would welcome any feedback from each and every person in my community.

Why are you seeking the office (in 100 words or less)? I believe strongly in local government. I believe the township trustee and his advisory board are able to better assess the needs of the township.
If elected, what will you do to serve the people of Webster Township (in 150 words or less)? I will try my best to maintain a reasonable budget. I would try to listen to the voters’ comments and carry them to the trustee. Should I see a person in need, I would direct them to the township trustee. I would encourage more openness in the budget explanation to voters of the township. I would encourage voters of the township to, when they see a need in the area, to discuss it with the advisory board.

Why are you seeking the office (in 100 words or less)? I’m seeking the office of Webster Township Advisory Board for the opportunity to offer different opinions and ideas for the betterment of our township.
If elected, what will you do to serve the people of Webster Township (in 150 words or less)? I will listen to any resident’s concerns, no matter what their political position is. We hear constantly on a national and state level all the problems and concerns facing our country, but we should remember that the same concerns and challenges affect each of us at the county and township level as well. I would appreciate your vote but, no matter who you choose to vote for, please be sure and vote.
