Iris R. Schamel

Iris Rae Mosier Schamel, 84, Salem, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at St Vincent Hospital at Salem.
Born Oct. 28, 1929, in Byrneville, she was the daughter of the late Bertha and Wilbur M. Mosier.
She graduated from New Salisbury High School in 1947, attended Prosser School of Nursing and was a member of Byrneville Community of Christ Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two children, Jerry and Rita; a grandchild, Rebecca; her husband, William Dale Schamel; and two brothers, Hewett and Larry Mosier.
Survivors include three sons, Michael, Mark and Bill Jr., all of Salem; a daughter, Brenda Sprigler of Floyds Knobs; a sister, Phyllis Davis of Ramsey; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
