Wanda Rose White Simpson, 76, Palmyra, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany.
Born Oct. 2, 1937, in Brooks, Ky., she was the daughter of the late George and Irene Fessel White.
She was a 1956 graduate of the old Morgan Township High School, was a homemaker, worked 25 years for the Harrison County Sheriff’s Dept. as a dispatcher, from which she retired, and was a member of Palmyra United Methodist Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Reed, and a brother, Bill White.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, John Robert Simpson; a son, Brad Simpson of Springfield, Ky.; four daughters, Johnna Bledsoe and Sally Banet, both of Palmyra; Janine West of Memphis and Janelle Morgan of Clarksville; two sisters, Alyce Martin of New Salisbury and Lee Ann Page of Jeffersonville; a brother, Darrell White of Carmel; and nine grandchildren.
Visitation: Tuesday, Sept. 30, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Oct. 1, after 10 a.m. at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra.
Funeral: Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with interment in Horner’s Chapel Cemetery near Fredericksburg.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Horner’s Chapel Cemetery Fund, in care of Sue Hawkins, 9879 S. Horner’s Chapel Road, Fredericksburg, IN 47120.
