Shelby E. Willis

Shelby E. Willis, 76, Corydon, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation ‘ Harrison in Corydon.
Born Feb. 1, 1938, in Pine Bluff, Ark., he was the son of the late Shelby E. Sr. and Mary Roark Willis.
He was a graduate of Purdue University and the University of Illinois, taught agriculture and biology for 15 years at South Central High School, worked for the USDA as a crop adjuster, retired from the Census Bureau in 2008 and was an FFA sponsor and a coach for the Harrison County 4-H Entomology Team.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, George.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, the former Eileen Danforth Willis; a son, Seth Willis of Greeley, Colo.; a daughter, Bethany Spencer; and a grandson.
Visitation: Saturday, Oct. 4, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Memorial service: Saturday, Oct. 4, at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
Officiant: Pastor Charles M. Pelc.
