James Edward Denny, 84, New Salisbury, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, at Kentuckiana Medical Center in Clarksville.
Born Oct. 20, 1929, in New Albany, he was the son of the late Cedric Forest Sr. and Pauline Kron Denny.
He was a half owner of Banner Transfer and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lanesville.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death two sons, John Earl Denny and Joseph Eric Denny, and a grandson, John Thomas.
Survivors include his wife, the former Joanne Keller; two sons, James Edward Denny II of Deer Park, Ill., and Jerald Erin Denny of Georgetown; a daughter, Diane Slaughter of Corydon; a brother, Cedric Denny II of Louisville; three sisters, Suzanne Dean and June Feiock, both of Bradenton, Fla., and Patricia Meyer of Greenwood; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Tuesday, Sept. 9, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 2 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lanesville with burial in the church cemetery.
Officiant: Pastor Christopher Truelsen.
