Hugh E. Jackson
Hugh E. Jackson, 86, Depauw, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, at his home.
Born June 5, 1928, in Blue River Township, Harrison County, he was the son of the late Clyde B. and Mabel Martin Jackson.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, retired from B.F. Goodrich Chemical Co. in Louisville and a member of Milltown American Legion Post 332, John Hay Chapter Sons of the American Revolution and New Salisbury Church of Christ.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Warren L. Jackson, and a brother, Norman F. Jackson.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, the former Evelyn G. Harper; a daughter, Judith E. Jackson Hopper of Depauw; a brother, Ralph M. Jackson of Corydon; two sisters, Lorraine Cornelison of Clarksville and Janis Yenawine of Jeffersonville; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Saturday, Aug. 30, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 31, after 10 a.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey.
Funeral: Sunday, Aug. 31, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Hancock Chapel Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Crawford County Veteran Marker Program or Proctor House Restoration Project in care of the funeral home.
