Josephine Bartlett, 88, Pekin, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014.
Born May 30, 1926, in Pekin, she and her husband owned and operated the Palmyra Dairy Bar for 11 years, then she worked at Beta Shoe and IGA, both in Salem, followed by both her and her husband working for the Eastern Community School Corp. as custodians. She retired from her custodian position after 23 years of service but continued to work at the family farm. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ronny Bartlett, and a sister, Francis Brown.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Bruce Bartlett; a son, Randy Bartlett; a brother, Cecil Miller; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Thursday, Aug. 28, from 1 to 8 p.m. at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra and Friday, Aug. 29, after 10 a.m. at Martinsburg Church of Christ.
Funeral: Friday, Aug. 29, at 11 a.m. at the church with interment in Martinsburg Cemetery.
