Madeline Hottle, 93, Deer Park, Texas, formerly of Houston, died Thursday, July 17, 2014.
Born April 4, 1921, in Evans Landing, she was the daughter of the late Luther Leffler and Carrie Mason Leffler.
She graduated from Elizabeth High School, retired from the U.S. Postal Service, volunteered for several groups, including the Chamber of Commerce, the senior citizens community center and HEART for the local hospital, formerly danced on the ‘Arthur Murray Presents’ TV show and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Art Club.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis E. Hottle; a brother, Lawrence Leffler; and a sister, Harriet Knear.
Survivors include a brother, Luther Leffler Jr. of New Albany; a son, Ellis Gregory Hottle of Houston; a daughter, Karen Gehlbach of Elizabeth; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, July 23, from noon to 8 p.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Thursday, July 24, at noon at Evans Landing Church.
