Janice C. Sheckells, 65, English, died Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at her home.
Born Oct. 22, 1948, in Alton, she was the daughter of Hazel Bohannon Stevens of Alton and the late Joe Brooks.
She was a former employee of ARPAC Poultry Processing in Corydon and Safe Haven Child Care at Trinity Assembly of God Church near Corydon, was a cook at various Crawford County schools, was a former volunteer for Hospice and was a member of Holy Mount Church near Alton.
Besides her father, she was preceded in death by a grandchild and a great-grandchild.
Survivors in addition to her mother include her husband, Michael D. Sheckells; two sons, Jamie Dwayne Sheckells of Marengo and Adam Wayne Sheckells of Leavenworth; two daughters, Kimberly Lynn Morgan and Sandra Kay Sheckells, both of English; three brothers, Bill Daugherty of Alaska, Bobby Brooks of English and Joe Brooks of New Albany; five sisters, Margo Goffinet of Derby, Mary Dawson of Orlando, Fla., Linda Simpson of Lafayette, Judy Presley of Leavenworth and Loretta Williams of New Albany; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Friday, July 4, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, July 5, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Saturday, July 5, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in El Bethel Cemetery near Milltown.
Officiant: Pastor Marvin Culver.
Pallbearers: James Dooley, Blake, Dylan and Kenneth Sheckells and David Morgan.
