Laverne E. Harbeson

Laverne E. Harbeson, 91, New Albany, died Monday, June 16, 2014, at her home.
Born Oct. 1, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Jesse A. and Otaska Faye Richert.
She was a homemaker, a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and the St. Peter’s Women of the ELCA near Corydon, a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Old Capitol Aerie No. 2794 Ladies Auxiliary near Corydon and a former Harrison County 4-H leader.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, James R. (Jim) Harbeson; two sons, Richert J. Harbeson of Lanesville and Marc L. Harbeson of Elizabeth; two daughters, Cinda L. Harbeson of New Albany and Tammy J. Lamon of Lanesville; seven grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, June 18, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon and Thursday, June 19, after 10 a.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church near Lanesville.
Funeral: Thursday, June 19, at 11 a.m. at the church with burial in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Officiant: Pastor Robyn Kistemaker.
Organist: Kathy Johnson.
Pallbearers: Brian Lamon, David Harbeson, George A. Lamon, Russell Harbeson and Kevin Harbeson.
Honorary pallbearer: Michele Elzy.
The family suggests memorial gifts to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or Hosparus of Southern Indiana.
