Mary L. Schumaker

Mary L. Schumaker, 87, Corydon, died Monday, June 9, 2014.
Born Jan. 27, 1927, at Louisville, she was the daughter of the late George and Marquerite Fruechtenicht Oechsle.
She was a self-employed wallpaper hanger, a former employee of the old Keller Manufacturing Co. and a member of Ladies Auxiliary of Old State Capitol VFW Post No 2950.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William A. (Buck) Schumaker; a grandson, William Schumaker; and a brother, Gerald Oechsle.
Survivors include two sons, Fred W. and Steve W. Schumaker, both of Corydon; two daughters, Shirley L. Babcock Taylor of Bloomfield and Shelia A. Potts of Corydon; two brothers, George Donald Oechsle of Beatrice, Neb., and Marshall Tincher of Waddy, Ky.; a sister, Patricia Laemmle of Delmont, Pa.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, June 11, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, June 12, after 10 a.m. at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey.
Funeral: Thursday, June 12, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Bethlehem Cemetery near Crandall.
Officiant: The Rev. Jeff Reed.
Pallbearers: Steve, Luke and Lindsey Schumaker, Bill Babcock and Steven and Michael Schmelz.
